Gmail enables Nested labels and Message sneak-peek

Gmail is now even more customizable as folks at Google provided the facility to arrange labels hierarchically. Now emails Gmail rockz !! - www.theprohack.comcan be arranged even more intuitively by making a label child of another label. This highly requested label setting can be enabled by going to

settings-> labs –> Nested labels –> enable it –> save

Once you enable it, you can then name your labels with slashes (/) to make it a child of another label. Gmail enables Nested labels - www.theprohack.com

For example, if you want to create a simple label hierarchy with a "Social networking" label, and inside it a "Digg" and a "Facebook" label, then you just need to create three labels with the following names:

Social networking

Social networking/Digg

Social networking/Facebook

You can then create “Social networking/twitter” etc to get something like the screenshot on the right. Also, if the parent label doesn't exists then you have to create it before hand. Here you can see above that I have even started to use it and have arranged my labels accordingly.

Another feature to preview emails have been added to Gmail. You can now preview messages by right clicking the mail. this feature is known as Message Sneak-Peek.

You can enable this feature by going to -

settings-> labs –> Message Sneak Peek –> enable it –> save

Google GO – New programming front

Google Go is a new language developed by Google Inc which was first officially announced in November 2009. It’s a Google GO – New programming front compiled, garbage collected concurrent programming language. Language veterans Robert Griesemer, Rob Pike, and Ken Thompson initially started to design Go based on previous work related to the Inferno operating system in September 2007. Go has been deployed to compile on UNIX and Linux platform however as of the launch, Go was not considered to be ready for adoption in production environments.

With ken co creating Go,it has a syntax closer to C except for the type declarations; other syntactical differences are the missing parentheses around for and if expressions. Go has been designed with an aim to have exceptionally fast compilation times, even on modest hardware. Some of the features missing in Go as of now are exception handling, type inheritance, generic programming, assertions, method overloading and pointer arithmetic.

Here is an example of a Hello world program in Go -

package main

import "fmt"

func main()

{

fmt.Printf("Hello, World\n")

}

Go can be compiled using 2 compilers as of now - 6g (and its supporting tools, collectively known as gc) are in C, using yacc/Bison for the parser and Gccgo,a compiler with a C++ front-end with a recursive descent parser coupled to the standard GCC backend.

The industry reaction for Go has been mixed, with some veterans raising its fast compilation and others who criticized lack of features in it. judging by the reaction, one can simply say that Go is just not mature enough to be deployed to industry ready environments and has some rough edges to smooth out.

Google Hacks: How to use Google Web Search Basics

Whenever you search for more than one keyword at a time, a search engine has a default strategy for handling and combining those keywords. Google defaults to searching for occurrences of your specified keywords anywhere in the page, whether side by side or scattered throughout. To return the results of pages containing specifically ordered words, enclose them in quotes, turning your keyword search into a phrase search , to use Google's terminology.

On entering a search for the keywords:

Learn ethical hacking

Google will find matches where the keywords appear anywhere on the page. If you want Google to find you matches where the keywords appear together as a phrase, surround them with quotes, like this:

"Learn ethical hacking"

Google will return matches in which only those words appear together.

Google's Boolean default is AND, which means that if you enter query words without modifiers, Google will search for all your query words. For example, if you search for:

Learn ethical hacking website "penetration testing"

Google will search for all the words. If you prefer to specify that any one word or phrase is acceptable, put an OR between each:

Learn ethical hacking OR website OR "penetration testing"

* Make sure you capitalize OR; a lowercase or won't work correctly *

If you want to search for a particular term along with two or more other terms, group the other terms within parentheses, like so:

Learn ethical hacking (website OR "penetration testing")

This query searches for the word "website" or phrase "penetration testing" along with "Learn ethical hacking"

If you want to specify that a query item must not appear in your results, prepend a (minus sign or dash):

Learn ethical hacking website -"penetration testing"

This will search for pages that contain both the words "Learn ethical hacking" and "website," but not the phrase "penetration testing."

* Note that the symbol must appear directly before the word or phrase that you don't want. If there's space between, as in the following query, it won't work as expected: *

Learn ethical hacking website - "penetration testing"

Be sure, however, to place a space before the - symbol.

There are certain words that Google will ignore because they are considered too common to be of any use in the search. These words"I," "a," "the," and "of," to name a feware called stop words .

You can force Google to take a stop word into account by prepending a + (plus) character, as in:

+the hackers

Stop words that appear inside of phrase searches are not ignored. Searching for:

"the hackers" lifestyle

Will result in a more accurate list of matches than:

the hackers lifestyle

Simply because Google takes the word "the" into account in the first example but ignores it in the second.

The Google synonym operator, the ~ (tilde) character, prepended to any number of keywords in your query, asks Google to include not only exact matches, but also what it thinks are synonyms for each of the keywords. Searching for:

~ape

Turns up results for monkey, gorilla, chimpanzee, and others (both singular and plural forms) of the ape or related family, as if you'd searched for:

monkey gorilla chimpanzee

Along with results for some words you'd never have thought to include in your query. (Synonyms are bolded along with exact keyword matches on the results page, so they're easy to spot.)

If you're looking to spend $500 to $800 on a sony laptop; Google for:

sony laptop 10..15 inch $500..$800

The one thing to remember is always to provide some clue as to the meaning of the range, e.g., $, size, megapixel, kg, and so forth.

You can also use the number range syntax with just one number, making it the minimum or maximum of your query. Do you want to find some land in Noida that's at least 50 acres? No problem:

acres Noida land 50..

On the other hand, you might want to make sure that raincoat you buy for your terrier doesn't cost more than $10. That's possible too:

raincoat dog ..$10

Google normally does not recognize special characters such as $ in the search process. But because the $ sign was necessary for the number feature, you can use it in all sorts of searches.

Try the search - "weekly sale" bargains 10

and then - "weekly sale" bargains $10

Notice how the second search gives you far fewer results? That's because Google is matching $10 exactly.

Detect Invisible Users on Instant Messengers

Hi friends,I m one of those guys who always sign in as invisible in my IM’s because if I set my status to “Online” or Detect Invisible Users on IM'savailable, at least 6 (unwanted) chat windows will open and pest me up. However recently one good friend of mine tracked my status (both on Gmail and Yahoo),slightly baffled I asked him how he did that, and here I m sharing with you how he tracked my status on both IM’s. You can use the given methods to find your friends who try to hide from us,the lesser mortals.
TRACK INVISIBLE USERS ON YAHOO
Yahoo Messenger is a bit cryptic when it comes to tracking users,so we can track their status by these 2 methods -
  1. Yahoo Invisibility Detection sites
  2. Using Yahoo’s URL Resources
Yahoo Invisibility Detection Sites
I’ve found many sites which helps you to see which of your buddies are hiding online, some of these sites are:
YDetector.com Trace your invisible friends on yahoo Messenger
Invisible-Scanner.com
DetectInvisible.com
YahooScan.net
Invisible.ir
These site are very easy to use and self explain themselves. Just enter the ID you want to trace and get the status.
Yahoo URL Resources
Here are a bunch of URLs that can be used to detect invisible users, just replace “[username]” with the username you want to detect :
http://mail.opi.yahoo.com/online?u=[username]&m=g&t=0
(Shows up a yellow smiley if the person is online and gray if the person is offline or invisible)
http://mail.opi.yahoo.com/online?u=[username]&m=g&t=1
(Shows up a button with “Online Now” or “Not Online”)
http://mail.opi.yahoo.com/online?u=[username]&m=g&t=2
(Shows an image with “I am Online send me a message” or “Not Online right now”)

http://mail.opi.yahoo.com/online?u=[username]&m=a&t=0
(Shows a text with “[username] is ONLINE or NOT ONLINE”)

http://mail.opi.yahoo.com/online?u=[username]&m=a&t=1
(Shows “00” if person is offline and “01” if he is online)
remember,You have to replace the text in RED color in the given URL with the Yahoo ID you want to detect,
for eg - my YahooID is “iamrdx” ,the first URL is :
http://mail.opi.yahoo.com/online?u=[username]&m=g&t=0
After the replacement it would appear as :
http://mail.opi.yahoo.com/online?u=iamrdx&m=g&t=0

TRACE INVISIBLE USERS ON GTALK
Tracing Gtalk users is rather easy, you only have to use the following method -Trace Invisible Users on Gtalk
  1. Login to Gtalk using your Google id.
  2. Go to IM window of user you want to trace for invisible.
  3. You will see a drop-down list on right top side, click on it.
  4. Click on "go off the record".
  5. Now give any message.
  6. If the "xyz@gmail.com is offline and can't receive messages right now" message appears in red color it means your friend is really offline.
  7. If no message comes means your friend is online and invisible for all.

Good Luck :)

Improve Google Page Rank and Alexa Ranking

Showing up on search engines is one of the most critical ways to increase website traffic and expose your content, improve search engine rankings product or service to people who might be interested in what you have to offer. Most of the major search engines utilize an algorithm to determine where a website ranks.Google uses Pagerank system and Alexa uses various criteria’s to rank your position in related searches.A proven but little-known way to improve your page rank with Google and your Alexa ranking for new web authors is here for you.

Steps

  1. Build a website. NVU is an easy free WYSIWYG html editor or use a simple blogging platform like blogger, typepad or wordpress.
  2. Make sure that your site is optimized for the search engines and that all meta tags and robot tags are constructed properly.
  3. Focus building your site on original and unique content. Once Internet users start to appreciate and see the value in your website, they will begin linking to it.
  4. Submit your site map to Google to have all of your pages indexed.
  5. Submit to the main search engines, Yahoo, Google, MSN and any others that you prefer.
  6. Go to your favorite search engines and type in "social bookmark sites".
  7. Submit your site and any other favorite sites to as many social bookmark sites that you like.
  8. Submit your site to as many directories as you can, specially to those with high page rank like DMOZ or yahoo directory or to any smaller directory with lower page rank.
  9. Update your site frequently adding new content that keeps users returning to your site.

This method is two-pronged because not only will you get better positions in searches for your keywords, you are also going to receive one way inbound links for your website which will improve your search engine rankings.Add your website address sparingly to social bookmarking and wiki sites. Users who over-indulge in self-promotion will be perceived as spammers which may result in your website being added to blacklists or, even worse, your efforts to be simply ignored.Beware of duplicate content. Always make sure to check the content that you get by searching for the content on Google, Yahoo, and MSN.Be original and blog original. And just in case if you are copying from other blogs or websites, then do give a reference or link to the original source.

Good luck and

Offline Email - Gmail

Gmail Labs have introduced a new concept of Ofline email which uses Google Gears to download a local cache of yourOffline Email - Gmail - rdhacker.blogspot.com mail. As long as you're connected to the network, that cache is synchronized with Gmail's servers. This feature will be very useful to users who have less internet connectivity but use emails extensively. When you lose your connection, Gmail automatically switches to offline mode, and uses the data stored on your computer's hard drive instead of the information sent across the network. And if you're on an unreliable or slow connection (like when you're "borrowing" your neighbor's wireless), you can choose to use "flaky connection mode", which is somewhere in between: it uses the local cache as if you were disconnected, but still synchronizes your mail with the server in the background.

Offline Gmail is an experimental lab feature, which is made available to everyone who uses Gmail in US or UK English over the next couple of days, so if you don't see it under the Labs tab yet, it should be there soon. Once you see it, just follow these steps to get started:

  1. Click Settings and click the Labs tab.
  2. Select Enable next to Offline Gmail.
  3. Click Save Changes.
  4. After your browser reloads, you'll see a new "Offline0.1" link in the upper righthand corner of your account, next to your username. Click this link to start the offline set up process and download Gears if you don't already have it.

Google Spanner – A better Google

A recent presentation confirmed the existence of the proprietary distributed technology that will automatically move untitledand replicate the load between Google’s mega data centers when traffic and hardware issues arise. Perhaps this was done to counter the issues of lagtime when Gmail was down..who knows? The platform is known as Spanner.

Google fellow Jeff Dean hinted about Spanner in the classic Google manner during a conference this summer and has now confirmed its existence in a presentation (PDF) delivered at a symposium earlier this month. .Dean’s presentation calls it a “storage and computation system that spans all our data centers [and that] automatically moves and adds replicas of data and computation based on constraints and usage patterns.” This includes issues and constraints related to bandwidth, packet loss, power, resources, and “failure modes”.

Google Spanner

Google is intent on scaling Spanner to between one million and 10 million servers, encompassing 10 trillion (1013) directories and a quintillion (1018) bytes of storage. And all this would be spread across “100s to 1000s” of locations around the world.

Thats a hell lot of data and power granted to a single corporation which will be housing an exabyte of the world's data across thousands of custom-built data centers.

Lets see how this unfolds..

Gmail password SMS recover - rdhacker.blogspot.com

The Next time you forget your password, enter your username on the password-assistance page, and Google will text you a recovery code. No need to check another email account or even leave the page.

How to Improve Search Engine Ranking

How to Improve Search Engine Ranking

Showing up on search engines is one of the most critical ways to increase website traffic and expose your content, product or service to people who might be interested in what you have to offer. Most of the major search engines utilize an algorithm to determine where a website ranks. The search engines have set up specific criteria that a website must meet to get to the top of the list. The criteria are different for every engine, but all engines share several commonalities. It all boils down to the type and amount of content provided on a given website, the level of optimization done on the site, and the popularity of the website (link popularity/PageRank). Tailoring your website for improved search engine rankings is also known widely as search engine optimization, or SEO.

Steps

[1]. Research the keywords:Decide what search queries you want to show up for. Do some research on how many people are actually searching for your site. Many times it is best to consult a "natural search engine optimization" professional during this process. There are several tools available from Google, Overture, and third party software developers that can make the keyword research process easier.
[2]. Think outside of the box: Don't just focus on your main keywords. The first thing to realize when targeting keywords is that it is not all about ranking for the most popular keyword. The most successful search engine marketing and optimization campaigns target the most relevant keywords. For example, if you are a realtor in a particular area, don’t just optimize your site for “real estate." Optimize your site for dentist, florist, movie theaters, etc. You would be amazed how many unique visitors will come through to your site when "outside of the box" thinking occurs.
[3]. Focus on the end user: If you spend too much time trying to please the Search Engine Spiders, you may forget about the end user. Think about what your target market needs to accomplish their goals, and then put it on your site so that they can find it. The phrase "content is king" was born about 6 years ago, and it still holds true today. If you want to be relevant for specific keywords, than you need superior or at least highly competitive content. Write about 225-300 words of copy for each keyword and plant it on your site each day. Grow, grow, and grow. On average, one can target between 3-5 like keyword phrases per page. Make it as natural as possible and the Search Engines will reward you will a first page ranking.
[4]. Describe EVERYTHING: Make sure that all the pages of the site of have custom titles and descriptions. If your site is using the same tags for all the pages, you are not helping search engines figure out the subject or relevance of your individual pages. Regarding Meta Tags, there are 2 very important fields:
* Title Tag - arguably the most important SEO tag for any website. Google supports approx. 60 characters in the title, while Yahoo allows for up to 110 characters in the title. It is important to target the most critical keywords in the Title. Every page should have a unique Title.
* META Description Tag - also very important for every page on the site. Some engines do display the description defined, while others do not. All search engines do read the description tag, and do utilize the content found within in the ranking process. A good rule of thumb is to create descriptions that do not exceed 200-250 characters. The META keyword Tag is essentially useless in today's SEO market, but is often times good to utilize as a placeholder for the keywords targeted.
[5].Maintain Consistency: Keep the structure, navigation and URL structure of your site simple enough for search engines to follow. Remember that search engines cannot parse your navigation if it's using flash or javascript. So try to stay close to standard HTML when it comes to Navigation. URLs with dynamic parameters (?, &, SIDs) usually do not perform when it comes to search engine rankings
[6]. Create a site map: Create a site map that tells people where everything is on your site. You will get about a 1% click through rate to your site map. However, it will do wonders for those who know what site maps do, and the Search Engines will like it as well.
[7]. Build up your popularity: So now you have determined the right keywords on the right pages, you've created all of the necessary content; you've optimized all of the content to the best of your capabilities. Congratulations - you're now in the top 80 percentile (from an optimization standpoint) of the websites listed for the keywords you're trying to target. So how do you get a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd page listing? The answer is quite simple: You have to be the most popular, too. That's right, it's a popularity contest. In other words, how many other websites know you (link to you), and how popular are they? This is typically referred to as link popularity, or called PageRank by Google. The more sites that link to your site the better, and the more popular the site linking to you the more value you will receive for your link popularity. The best types of "link building" are directory registration, text link advertising, and press release distribution. Try to offer valuable information or tools so that other people are motivated to link to your site. Well linked sites (that don't use spamming) do better in search engines.

Tips

* Search engine algorithms assess the relevance of your page to any particular keyword by the content on your pages. For instance if you are selling "widgety widgets" on your site and you do not mention "widgety widgets" on your page text, search engines have very little to work with. Also make sure that you are not spamming search engines by using the same keyword over and over.
* Although not as important as they used to be, reciprocal links do still matter with Google. Reciprocate with similar websites and include keywords near the links on your site.
* If you want to optimize well for your city, state etc., make sure to sprinkle geographic search terms throughout. Include it in text as well as set apart. Search engines do not know where you are unless you tell them.
* Bold and italics can make your keywords stand out more with the search engines.
* Interior links within your site will improve SEO; Sitemaps are a great way to generate internal links and make your website better too!
* Correct broken links, search engines do not like dead ends.
* If you have over 30 keywords that mean business to you, then you might want to hire a Professional Search Engine Copywriting firm or outsource it to freelancers.
* Anyone who can go to google and type in "keyword research" will find very many tools that mixed with common sense should suffice quite well.
* Now when digging deeper to understand the traffic patterns of certain keywords use Wordtracker’s GTrends Tool. You can get an idea on the amount of competition on Google compared to the amount of searches. Now these numbers are far from accurate, BUT if you can kind of step back and take a broader look at things, don’t worry so much about the numbers but compare the trends since it shows the past history. See if its steady traffic, traffic that is going extinct, or traffic just starting to peak. By using this tool, you can many times find some golden opportunities.
* It really comes down to just using common sense. Just sit down and think, "What would other people search to find this? What would I search for to find this?" Try phrases in your keyword research tool to get new ideas and find the higher trafficked most targeted phrases. DO NOT look at the numbers spat back out at you by these programs as accurate numbers, they rarely are. You can still use these tools to get ideas on new keywords, search patterns of users, and many other things, that mixed with the information of trends in that area, can really help you.

Warnings

* If you are going to use freelancers, beware of duplicate content. Always make sure to check the content that you get by searching for the content on Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
* Never have hyperlinks like "click here", hyperlinks should always be keywords, long hyperlinks with multiple keywords are even better.
* Don't hide content.
* Don't create duplicate websites.
* Remember that if you use black-hat SEO techniques, you run the risk of getting penalized by the search engines and having your web site permanently removed from their index.

Google Chrome OS FAQ

Google has made quite an impact by announcing the Chrome OS and its indeed sending waves though the tech world with some saying the OS signals the Google Chrome OSbeginning of the end for the reign of Microsoft and there are others who say that Google will fall flat on its face and fail. Without more specifics only time will say for sure how big of a splash the OS will really make. Google pledges to release more information regarding the OS later this summer.

This leaves us with lots of questions and few answers. Until Google decides to share more, we'll try to make the best of what we've got in this FAQ.

What is Chrome OS?

Chrome OS is a Linux-based operating system developed by Google which promises to focus on Web applications while integrating a fast and simple interface, based off Google's existing Chrome browser.

Who will use it?

Chrome OS is initially targeted at the netbook market, but Google plans to offer the OS for computers all the way up to full-size desktops. Chrome supports both x86 and ARM architectures, which means that most computers and possibly some mobile devices will be able to run Chrome OS.

What will it look like?

As Google says Chrome OS will run a heavily modified version of Chrome browser so it may resemble chrome with a dock full of apps.

What will become of my computer's desktop?

Nothing..period. When it releases, dual boot it :P The Linux kernel is flexible, so anything's possible.

How will my computer stay secure?

Google claims that it will design Chrome OS's security infrastructure so users "don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates." It may or may not be possible since protection measures are itself built into Chrome OS itself. But still flaws are always there.

No computer is truly virus-proof. What will happen if mine gets one?

Good question. Its a common perception that Linux doesn't gets viruses but its only because its a low profile OS and its not targeted as much as Windows, but Chrome will make it an attractive target for virus makers. It's not known what security measures will be in place to save a compromised computer. Probably Linux based Anti-viruses will surface from AV giants like Norton and Kaspersky exclusive to Chrome.

Should I be worried about privacy when entrusting my OS to Google?

This issue has already raised eyebrows by some privacy advocates. Earlier, the company took heat for the way it collected data from Chrome users, and had to make concessions. Until Google can explain how an entire operating system won't be any more intrusive than its existing data-collection practices on the Web, privacy is a valid concern.

Will Chrome OS computers resemble Macs or Windows-based PCs at all?

As Google truly intends for Chrome OS to be a Web-centric OS and their official statement states that Google is "working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year." We could see a new line of computers built exclusively for Chrome OS.

Will we see applications exclusive to Chrome OS?

Nah..as the operating system stresses Web apps above all (think it like addons for Mozilla Firefox). Furthermore, Google itself says Web apps "will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform."

Will we see applications that won't run on Chrome OS?

Without a doubt. If Chrome OS could perform every task, it'd be another Windows or OS X, and that's not what Google is trying to do. Don't expect to run Crysis, or Minesweeper.

Will "Favorite Application X" run on Chrome OS?

Depends upon the software dev if it supports the OS or if Google is interested in the program. It's conceivable (till date) that Microsoft won't support a Chrome OS-compatible Office suite, but Google could make things going by building out its Docs suite to match.

When will Chrome OS be released?

It will become available later this year, first for outside programmers to begin tinkering. It'll reach the netbook market in the second half of 2010, according to sources quoted in The New York Times.

I m keeping my fingers crossed..Period

  1. Categorize by priority: Stepcase Lifehack recommends categorizing your feeds by priority so that you don’t get bogged down in irrelevant articles.
  2. Google Reader Autoscroll: The autoscroll script lets you “view and mark items as read by means of a mouse wheel and keyboard shortcuts.”

Don’t Get Caught With Google Adsense Click Fraud

Don’t Get Caught With Google Adsense Click Fraud

Considering the money to be made with Adsense, it is no wonder that they would want to get back into it.

It is that same consideration why the Google Adsense click fraud is thought of and why many people are getting into it.

Click fraud is the act of clicking on ads for the purpose of costing the advertiser money. It is simply the same as paying out cash for false leads. Many people website owners are aware of this fraud and are sharing the same sentiment that this is the one big problem that Adsense is facing.

How do you prevent being involved in this fraud?

Majority of web hosts are offering access logs. Once this is offered to you, it is necessary that you hand it over to Google as well. This allows them to look for any suspicious activity on your site. Problems like this are very serious and giving it to them is saying that you would want to help them in any way you can in solving the problem.

It can also help if you have a click monitoring software. If you do not have one yet, you should try and get one. There is absolutely no major factor preventing you from having one because most of this software is free.

As usual, all the information you have received should be turned over to Google. This is showing Google that you too are fighting against click frauds and is in no way a part of it.

Study your server logs and watch for any activity that seems suspicious. Report anything that you may find odd, may it big or small thing.

You may want to consider disabling ads for your own IP address and local geographic area. This will certainly prevent accidents and will not make Google mistake another user as you. You can do through a htaccess file. This will avoid Google mistaking as clicking on your own ads and be kicked out because of it.

Keep your Adsense off on pop ups and pop unders.

Your ads should not be displayed on content sites that promote illegal activity or tampering of the legal rights of other people or business. Included in this are the content that is considered adult and gambling ones. If you think that you may be breaking this rule, immediately remove your content or Adsense from the web page.

Be truthful and confess up to Google about times when you might have clicked on your own as, whether accidentally or intentionally. Or the times when you have done something that is against the Terms of Service that they are implementing. Be honest about anything that you may have done that is wrong. Confessing is way better than Google learning about it eventually. It would mean eventual termination and no getting back what you have worked so hard for.

Do not tell your family or friends about Adsense on your website. Chances are they may start clicking on them to help you make money without you knowing it. They may be doing more harm to you than help by trying it in the first place.

If ever someone you know chanced upon your Adsense, make sure they understand that they cannot click on your ads under any circumstances. It would be wise to brief them on important things about Adsense and what not to do with them.

Most pay per click networks have different measures in hand to protect website owners against click frauds. Other search engines can track more than 50 data points, IP address, browser’s information, users session info and pattern recognition. They also have ’systems’ available that detects fraud. Not to mention the specialized teams monitoring how things are going and helping advertisers stop click frauds.

Google offers suggestion on how to avoid click fraud. Using ‘negative keywords’ can be used to keep your Adsense showing on products and services that are in no way related to yours. Adding tracking URLs to your links so you can track the traffic coming from Google.

Do not be caught in the Google click fraud. Be aware and be wary.

Google M Lab – New Internet Saviour

Google today unveiled Measurement Lab (M-Lab), an open platform that researchers can use to deploy Internet Google M Lab – New Internet Saviour - rdhacker.blogspot.commeasurement tools which can detect internet based errors. When an Internet application doesn't work as expected or your connection seems slow, how can you tell whether there is a problem caused by your broadband ISP, the application, your PC, or something else? It can be difficult for experts, let alone average Internet users, to address this sort of question today. Due to lack of a comprehensive set of tools available today to counter these issues,Google took the initiative (as always) and introduced M-Lab.

Over the course of early 2009, Google will provide researchers with 36 servers in 12 locations in the U.S. and Europe. All data collected via M-Lab will be made publicly available for other researchers to build on.It is a community based effort,so call it an Orkut for developers :) .

Following features are currently provided by M-Lab as of now -

  • Diagnose common problems of internet which might low internet.
  • Check whether bit torrent is blocked by their ISP or not.
  • Get information about their connection and provide researchers with valuable aggregate data

and more..

As of now these tools are in their first phase of evolution and will mature into a great piece of code with time.

You can learn more at the M-Lab website.

Google Chrome

Google Chrome

Google CHROMEGoogle takes aim squarely at Microsoft with the release of its new Web browser, Chrome. And Microsoft should be very afraid: Chrome lives up to its hype by rethinking the Web browser in clever and convenient ways that make using the Web a more organic experience than you'd get with either Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 or Mozilla's Firefox 3.

Initially available for download for Windows Vista and XP, Google plans to expand its Chrome offerings to the Mac and Linux platforms as well. The company doesn't offer any timeline for these versions, though..

Chrome automatically detects the Web browser you're using and prompts you through the process of installation (right down to telling you how to access downloaded files within Firefox, for example). When you first run the application, Chrome imports your bookmarks, passwords, and settings from Firefox or Internet Explorer. It even can grab username and password data, and it automatically populates those fields for you when you use Chrome for the first time to visit a particular site

GOOGLE CHROMEAfter running through a quick import checklist, Chrome opens on your desktop--and right away you begin to experience the Web in a new way. Chrome's layout is very simple: You'll see a row of tabs running along the top, a Web address bar, and a bookmarks bar that runs beneath the address bar. A separate recent bookmarks box appears at the right of the screen, as does a history search field.

Like its Google stablemates, Chrome has a remarkably minimalist interface. There is no full-scale menu bar and no title bar--and few distractions. All controls are buried beneath two icons to the right of the Omnibar (as Google refers to its address bar): a page icon for managing tabs and using Google Gears to create application-like shortcuts from your desktop to a Web site; and a wrench for history, downloads, and other browser options.

On the Google Blog, Sundar Pichai and Linus Upson acknowledge they pressed the “send” button a day early, tipping off Philipp Lenssen in Germany, who set the fuse on the worldwide blog bomb. At the same time, Google coined a new PR move: announcements in e-comic book form.
You can check that out for in-depth descriptions, explanations, and philosophy behind Google’s new browser—but fair warning it will take a while. Bloggers immediately labeled it an assault on Microsoft, both on the browser level and, in an interesting stretch, the OS level. They wonder, too, about how this will affect Google’s relationship with Mozilla.
It’ll launch at some point today at Google.com/chrome.

First the specs:

  • Like Android, Google Chrome is based on, built from the ground up with, open source application framework WebKit; it is intended to be next-generation built for handling Web applications rather than Web pages. It includes Google Gears built-in.
  • To that end, Google built its own JavaScript engine, V8, to power web applications with multi-threaded efficiency.
  • Browser tabs get their own process rather than tabs sharing processes to solve the ever-dreaded freeze-and-crash problem by freeing up memory and reducing memory fragmentation.
  • Each tab has its own URL box, effectively making each tab a browser window
  • No about:blank pages. Chrome defaults to a page featuring the four most used search engines and the user’s nine most visited Web pages.
  • Similar to IE 8, Chrome has an “Incognito” mode to erase browser history when the browser is closed—something Firefox 3 didn’t include.
  • Chrome can be “streamlined” so that the toolbar and URL box are hidden and only the webpage is shown on the screen.
  • Chrome features browser extensions allowing it to make hybrid apps similar to Adobe AIR
  • An Opera-like dashboard start page and auto-completion.
  • It’s pretty strong on the security front. Chrome sandboxes Webpages, preventing drive-by downloads and installations. It continuously makes contact with Google to update a list of known malware sites in order to warn the user.
No word yet on how much the browser actually communicates with Google. Given Google’s history of watching everything its product users do, it wouldn’t be surprising if Google would gather browsing information to use for its search and ad-serving algorithms.
The browser will launch in more than 100 countries today. The company says the launch will add value for the user while driving innovation on the Web. Available only for Windows for now, Google plans to release versions for Mac and Linux as well.

Google has produced an excellent browser that is friendly enough to handle average browsing activities without complicating the tasks, but at the same time it's powerful enough to meet the needs of more-advanced users. The search functionality of the Omnibar is one of many innovations that caught my attention. PC World has chosen to rate this beta version of Chrome because of Google's history of leaving products and services in long-term beta and in an ongoing state of evolution. In the past there has been some speculation that Google would develop their own operating system, but I think Chrome's launch makes one thing is clear: The Web browser is Google's operating system.
